In the vicinity of rivers is an interesting variety of wildlife. However, capturing decent pictures of birds and animals with amateur grade lens is a tricky business. This red-wattled lapwing pair was captured from the ancient pathway called Kampabhupa Marga. This ancient pathway connects Virupaksha Bazaar street to the double-storied gateway of Vittalapura.
Besides the red-wattled lapwing, we spotted several smaller birds but could not identify them. Then the most memorable thing was spotting a river otter which popped it's head out for a second before vanishing underwater.
